Lee is the Chief Instructor and designs and delivers the majority of the programmes delivered at the club. Lee has a wealth of experience of the Martial Arts and holds Instructor Status in Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defence), Panantuken (Filipino Boxing) and with the British Combat Association as well as ranks in Brazillian Jui Jitsu, Kick Boxing and Guro Bob Breen’s 4D Combat System. As well as training with some of the world’s leading lights in martial arts, including Royce Gracie, Maul Mornie, Peter Irving and Lucien Carbin, Lee also cross trains extensively in various striking arts including Muay Thai and Kickboxing, grappling arts including Brazillian Jui Jitsu and Wrestling and weapons based systems Kali and Eskrima, the latter being part of Dog Brothers Martial Arts headed by Guro Benjamin Rittiner.

Rachel is a secondary school teacher in County Durham with over 20 years experience in supporting young people to be successful. She holds Level 3 Safeguarding for young people and vulnerable adults and assists with policy writing, risk assessments and child safeguarding, in line with Government expectations. She ensures all those who work at Ironworks Martial Arts CIC are up-to-date with their safeguarding training.

Phil is a university cancer research scientist and educator with a 22 year interest in martial arts. He studied Ju-jitsu gaining his blue belt , then moved onto Krav Maga in 2011 and has also trained in Pantukan. Phil has experience in project management, budgeting and public engagement. He assists with running introductory sessions for people new to martial arts as well as running classes for child learners. Phil has been the director of two companies and also offers commercial consultancy to medical technology spin outs.

Charlie is the creative force behind Ironworks Martial Arts CIC when it comes to our social media and marketing presence. He has a wealth of experience in implementing and growing digital agency of various brands. Charlie coordinates and schedules our content for our Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as updating and analysing our website traffic. Furthermore, he is adept at posting new material and catching upcoming trends.
